TRADITIONAL COUNTRY KITCHEN, REDHILL
THE CLIENT'S BRIEF | The original kitchen was fitted along the entire length of the room and returned below the furthest window. There was a small table butted up to the opposing wall, but this was in the walkway. The client had to continuously walk back and forth as the appliances were not ideally positioned. The aim was to create a more practical and social space for use by a family.
WHAT WE DELIVERED
Splitting the kitchen into two areas created a social dining area on one end and the practical kitchen in the middle. This allowed us to position the sink, hob and fridge closer together, using the ‘kitchen work triangle’, resulting in a far more usable cooking space.
Built-in seating was designed for the far end of the kitchen, for use with a large dining table and floating shelves were fitted to add interest to the walls. The addition of the upholstered seat pads, cushions and pendant lighting, allows the family to spend more time in the cosy corner without feeling like they are in the way.
