NAVY BLUE KITCHEN, TWICKENHAM

THE CLIENT'S BRIEF | This space was where this family would spend most of their time, so they extended their home to include a pitched ceiling, with skylights and beautiful bespoke French doors. This flooded their kitchen with light and so they wanted to introduce a bold kitchen with some industrial touches to add interest. The underside of the stairs was visible & encroached into the corner of the room, so the aim was to disguise these.

WHAT WE DELIVERED

The room was zoned into two spaces; the kitchen and dining area, separated by designing a peninsula kitchen. We built in tall and deep units which hid the underside of the stairs, but this also created the perfect utility area, including a freestanding washing machine, tumble dryer and a pull-down ironing board.

The cooking area was to be the focal point of the kitchen. With lots of natural light pouring into the room, the navy blue colour worked well in this space. We made shelves from reclaimed scaffolding boards and fitted with cast iron brackets, and used metro tiles as the splashback. These features in addition to the dark paint colour added an industrial aesthetic, creating the statement kitchen the clients were seeking.
